M4 Smart Motorway Upgrade – Stage 1

The M4 Smart Motorway Project involves an upgrade along the M4 Motorway from Lapstone to Mays Hill, and will provide a tailored technology solution to create a better travelling experience and more consistent journey for motorists.

The scope of works for this project included (but not limited to) trimming the edge of the road, drilling pits to assist with drainage, and cutting trenches through the road for drainage. A large portion of this work was completed at night due to high traffic load during the day.
