Scenic Railway Upgrade

In 2013, Scenic World underwent a redevelopment of the world famous ‘Scenic Railway’ – the steepest passenger railway in the world. Custom designed, glass-roofed carriages allows passengers expansive views of the rainforest setting and spectacular Jamison Valley. Passengers can also adjust their seating position up to 20 degrees! The Railway descends 310 metres through a cliff-side tunnel, emerging into the rainforest at the Jamison Valley floor.
The scope of works included drilling holes for anchor bolts which were to secure the bottom platform for the train, sawing of sandstone to allow fitting of the new structure, and various sawing works in the winch area.
